What does Membership look like at an organization where people belong but there are no Membership dues?
Got your attention?! Allow us to explain.
    CHABAD HAS NO MEMBERSHIP DUES.
At Chabad of NW Seattle, we believe that every Jew is already a valued member of our community. That's why we don't charge mandatory, one-size-fits-all membership dues. We have an open-door policy that welcomes every single Jew and makes them feel at home, regardless of their affiliation or financial situation. When we are asked how many members we have, our response is simple: "As many Jews as there are in the area."
We still have bills to pay
Despite not having membership dues, we still have bills to pay, and each year our budget continues to grow thanks to the success of our programs, which include children's programs, teen programs, Bar-Bat Mitzvah, adult education, Shabbat and Holiday Services, weekly classes, women's programs, and holiday programming. Our budget has significantly increased since we leased our own beautiful commercial space in the heart of Greenwood.
Additionly, building a 4-6-month operational reserve to ensure our financial health and stability is one of our top financial priorities.
We pride ourselves on being extremely careful with our funds and making sure that every dollar is used to its fullest potential. As an independent organization, we are fully responsible for covering our budget.
So how do we pay our bills without collecting membership dues? We rely on voluntary gifts from dedicated and generous friends in the community who believe in this vision and want to partner with Chabad in our mission to make Judaism accessible and relevant to all.
Becoming a Monthly Partner and donating a consistent monthly investment in Chabad of NW Seattle is a crucial element of our financial stability.
We have three tiers of voluntary philanthropic giving that caring people can join to support our work.
